Cătălin Preda has always been drawn to heights, not just physically, but in how he lives. He started diving when he was just seven, after a swimming coach noticed his build and suggested he try something a little more daring. From that moment on, the diving board became his second home. His journey has taken him from Bucharest to the UK, across oceans and onto cruise ships, where he performed high dives for live audiences. Then, he discovered cliff diving, a whole new world that combined sport, performance, and serious adrenaline. He was hooked.

In 2018, Cătălin made his Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series debut with a wildcard and stunned everyone. He pulled off a dive no one had ever seen before and landed on the podium in his very first competition. From there, he never looked back. Today, he’s one of the sport’s top athletes, with multiple podiums, a European silver medal, and even a world record for the highest cliff diving score ever. But if you ask him, it’s all about progress. He’s just trying to be a little better each day.
