Mihai Popescu

Mihai Popescu is bringing spatial vision and hospitality design excellence to FOMO 2026.

Co-founder and creative force behind Twins Studio, Mihai has designed iconic hospitality locations in Romania and internationally, from Milan and Mykonos to Vienna, London, Cyprus, and Baden. A graduate of Industrial Design at Belle Arte in 1999, he comes from a strong design lineage, with a grandfather who was a technological engineer and a mother, architect Alice Popescu, who has over two decades of experience in product design within the soft industrial segment.

Over the years, Mihai has won multiple national and international design awards, including the Restaurant & Bar Design Awards in London (World’s Best Bar 2015), Big SEE Awards, and SIT Awards. Through Twins Studio, he transforms concepts into spaces defined by detail, atmosphere, and long-term identity. His portfolio includes projects such as Fratelli, Biutiful, Uanderful, Tuya Milano, Tuya Mykonos, Tuya Vienna, Casa di David, Nomad Skybar, Fratellini, Fain Sibiu, Stradale, Pescăruș, Acvamarin, Carnivale, Hotel Riva Mamaia, and Restomare Latchi Cyprus.

His philosophy is rooted in public space design and in creating environments that go beyond aesthetics, spaces that gather people and build cultural memory.
